Connect Google Ads to ChatGPT
ChatGPT can read and change your Google Ads account once you add Adlyko as a custom connector. That takes one server URL and a Google sign-in, with no keys or middleware. You do need developer mode, because that's where ChatGPT allows your own MCP servers. After that you ask in plain language what's happening in your campaigns, and ChatGPT works with the real numbers from your account.
- Where you set it up
- Settings, under apps and connectors, in the advanced settings
- Works in
- The web version of ChatGPT, on a laptop or desktop
- Plan
- Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education
- Note
- In a business workspace an admin has to allow custom connectors
Add Adlyko in five steps
- 1
Sign up for Adlyko
Sign in with the Google account you use to manage your Google Ads. After that you don't need to enter a key or token in ChatGPT.
- 2
Turn on developer mode
Open ChatGPT in your browser and go to your settings. Where you manage apps and connectors there's a block of advanced settings, and that's where the developer mode switch is. Without it you can't add your own MCP server.
- 3
Create a connector for Adlyko
On that same screen, choose the option to create a connector. Name it Adlyko, put this URL in the server field and choose OAuth as the authentication. Then confirm that you trust the provider.

Sign in with the same Google account
ChatGPT sends you to a Google sign-in. Use the account you signed up to Adlyko with, otherwise the server finds no access that belongs to you.
- 5
Activate the connector in your conversation
Start a new conversation, click the plus next to the input field, choose developer mode and switch Adlyko on. ChatGPT doesn't remember that choice for your next conversation, so you repeat this every time you work on your account.
Your first question
ChatGPT doesn't always pick up a custom connector on its own. Mention Adlyko at the start of your question, so it knows right away where to go. After the first tool call, the rest of the conversation goes by itself.
Use Adlyko and give me the five campaigns with the highest cost over the last thirty days, with cost, conversions and cost per conversion side by side.
Take the worst two from that list. Find out which search terms are eating the money there and write a proposal I can review first.
If ChatGPT gives an answer that sounds too neat, ask for the numbers per campaign. If it fetches them, they come from your account. If it says it can't reach them, the connector is off in this conversation.
What to know about ChatGPT
- A custom connector is on or off per conversation. It takes two clicks, but it's every single time.
- In a Business or Enterprise workspace the admin decides whether members can create custom connectors. If the option is missing, that's where to look.
- Adlyko both reads and writes. ChatGPT only carries out a proposal after you confirm it, and new campaigns always come in paused.
- Want the same connection in an assistant that doesn't ask per conversation? Then have a look at Connect Google Ads to Claude.
If it doesn't work
- I don't see a developer mode switch
- Developer mode is in the web version and available on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education. If you work in a business workspace, an admin may have turned off the option to create custom connectors. That's in the workspace settings under permissions, not in your personal settings.
- The connector is there, but ChatGPT does nothing with my account
- Two causes come up almost every time. Either the connector isn't on in this conversation, because that's a per-conversation choice. Or ChatGPT doesn't pick the tool on its own. Then name it in your question, for example by starting with Use Adlyko.
- Does this work in the mobile app too?
- You set up custom connectors through developer mode in the web version. So stick to your laptop or desktop when you add Adlyko.
- Which authentication should I choose when creating it?
- OAuth. There's no key to paste and you don't need to fill in your own client details either. The Google sign-in that appears afterwards is the whole authentication.

Same URL, a different agent
The server URL doesn't change when you switch agents. Only the place where you enter it is different. What connecting involves is explained on the overview page about connecting Adlyko.

- TerminalManage Google Ads from Claude CodeOne command in your terminal, and your account sits next to your code and your files.
